Coach of the Zambia senior national team Wedson Nyirenda has urged his players to make history ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Zambia will host Nigeria in the match-day one of the World Cup qualifiers on Sunday, October 9. The Chipolopolo have never been to a FIFA World and Nyirenda believes his boys can make history.
“We just have to qualify. I have always said even if we are building the team, we have to qualify for the World Cup for the first time,” the coach told Post newspaper.
“The arrival of professionals has boosted morale in the team, we are looking good with the brotherliness I am seeing in the team. We are going to maintain Rainford Kalaba as captain.”
After Nigeria, Zambia will play Algeria and Cameroon in the Group B of the Word Cup qualifiers.
